Rice Pitha Recipe: On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, rice peetha is eaten as a traditional dish in the areas of West Bengal, Odisha and Assam. It is made both sweet and salty. It is easy to make at home and people of all ages love it. Actually, it is made from rice flour and pulses are filled inside it. Let us tell you about its easy recipe.

Ingredients for making Rice Chair
1/4 cup soaked gram lentils
8-10 cloves garlic
1 cup rice flour
3/4 teaspoon red chilli powder
1/2 teaspoon garam masala
1/2 teaspoon Amchur Powder
1 piece ginger
3 green chillies
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon Chaat Masala
1 teaspoon mustard
2 teaspoons refined oil
1 teaspoon white sesame seeds
2 whole red chillies
Water as required

Method of preparation of rice
-Knead soft flour by mixing 1/4 teaspoon salt and water in rice flour.
-Grind the soaked lentils coarsely with ginger, garlic and green chilies.
Take it out in a vessel and mix salt, red chili powder and amchur powder.
Make a few dough balls and dry with dry flour and roll them out.
Put 1 spoonful of lentils on the palm and fold in the shape of Gujhiya and paste it with water.
Put the water in a big pot to boil.
Pour the back into the boiling water and cook for 15 minutes, covered on low flame.
After cooling, take it out in a plate and cool it and cut it into 1 inch size with a knife.
Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, whole red chillies and sesame seeds.
Now add peetha and fry for 2 minutes and turn off the gas after adding the chaat masala.
Serve the guests hot on the occasion of Makar Sankranti.
