KBC 12: Amitabh Bachchan said that Kamal Amrohi wanted to perfect every scene of the film. So, like the fountains he has set up in front of the Taj Mahal, he got the same set on the film set and Kamal used real rose water in the dance sequence of Meena Kumari’s fountains.

Mumbai. In TV’s most popular quiz show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’, Contestant Afsin Naaz played a brilliant game in the last episode and won 25 lakh rupees from the show. During the show, there was a conversation between the two about the word ‘Pakija’. With this word, Amitabh Bachchan, the great hero of the century, remembered Meena Kumari’s film ‘Pakeezah’. He told an interesting fact of this film to the audience. In their conversation, Kamal Amrohi used the real rose water in the dance sequence featuring the fountains of Meena Kumari in the film ‘Pakija’.

Actually, during the game, Amitabh Bachchan asked Afzin Naaz as a question regarding the meaning of the word Pakija. With this word, Amitabh remembered this fact associated with the film ‘Pakija’, which he shared with all his audience.

Big B told that Kamal Amrohi wanted to perfect every scene of the film. So, like the fountains he has set up in front of the Taj Mahal, he got the same set on the set of the film and Kamal used real rose water in the dance sequence of Meena Kumari’s fountains.

According to Meghnad Desai’s book ‘Pakija’, Meena Kumari charged only the token amount for this film. This cult classic movie of Kamal Amrohi came out in 1972. It took about 16 years to build it. Apart from Meena Kumari and Rajkumar, Ashok Kumar and Nadira were also in the lead role in the film.
